News in actual version 1.60

Version V1.60 of the BayCom terminal has now been available for several years. It replaces V1.50 and earlier versions. V1.60 incorporates hardware drivers for the parallel port modems (PAR96, PICPAR) and an installation program. In most technical aspects, BayCom V1.60 is very similar to V1.50. V1.60 features:

the setup program INSTALL.EXE for a quick start.
auto-save of 7plus files into a separate subdirectory 7PLUS
support for KISS TNC's or direct access to a net node in KISS mode
AUTOBIN protocol for automatic binary file transfers, compatible to SP, Turbo Packet etc. (parameter AUTOBIN ON).
optimization in some hardware drivers (especially SCC cards), slower computers will now run better.
an RTT round-trip-timer
a "smaller" L2 that requires less memory than in V1.50.
L2 now responds to "//q" commands from remote stations even when the terminal is not running.
more flexible generation of sysop passwords.
improved security under remote control. All file-related commands are restricted to a subdirectory REMOTE, unless the controlling station has identified itself with a password.
inclusion of external programmes in the RUN subdirectory. These can be started locally or remotely with the RUN command.
all EXE files will now generate a help text when called with "/?" as a command line option.
an arbitrary interrupt vector can be used for the communication between L2.EXE and SCC.EXE. The command line option is /i<vector> where <vector> is a hex number between 40 and FF.
